World of work

This is some of my written work showing i know what virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) is and how augmented reality can be an advantage to the viewer with an immersive experience and how it can bring people together as well as explaining my reasons why i would agree it would be more immersive to interact with for the viewer away from a 2D screen.
Job roles in the games industry

Team Ramen Games

Our game is for a refugee coming in from another country seeking refuge. The game is designed to help educate them about Fundamental British values. Learning these values will help them adjust to life in the UK more effectively and try to relieve some stress on them.

Company card - The company card lists all the members of Team Ramen.

Company logo - A bowl of Ramen which symbolises the team name and fits withing our art style.

Level Design

Begging tutorial level, this is the level where the character starts of in the game and meets the other characters in the game that discus the game basics.

Character layout in the tutorial level. This is the layout for where the player meets the different characters in the game that discuss the game controls, music, hints, health, defence, map and boost. The different characters that the player meets is marshmallow versions of each member of team Ramen.

This is the city level where the player will go through the city learning different British values, at the end of the level will come against a boss that then the British values learnt will be used to help defeat the boss.
The Cafe, this is a building the player goes to in the game.

Pizza, this will eventually make up a character in the game as all the characters are based of foods around the world to represent different nationalities.

Music video Analysis

Ed Sheeran's shape of you has a good upbeat sound. The video has a story line which I think is positive because two people lead and active lifestyle and fall for each other. they appear to break up and instead of turning to drink or drugs the male (Ed Sheeren) continued to work out at the gym to let out negative emotions in a more controlled healthy way.

Rae Sremmurd's Swang in my opinion has a very dreary sound due to how almost monotone the backing music is. Some of his lyrics talk about blowing all your money and using a word throughout which some people may find offensive. Their doesn't appear to be any story line to the music video and it mostly consists of people drinking whilst playing golf and smoking (what could be perceived as weed). From my analysis I feel this isn't an appropriate song or music video as it encourages poor life choices and I wouldn't recommend the song.

Between two songs ED Sheeran's shape of you and Rae Sremmurd's Swang I prefer Ed's music video to Rae's. They both talk about completely separate topics Ed's lyrics talk kindly about a person and shows determination through a video that despite heart ache of any kind of sadness to find a healthy release and work towards your goals. My only positive point about Rae's music video is there is some of the choreography. My negatives on Ed's would be that maybe some parts of his music video has dark lighting which as much as it made effect I wasn't too keen on. With Rae's song his lyrics are appalling as music video due to what behaviours it advertises to young people.

Art pieces analysis

Syd Meed's futuristic city scape found in my concept art page I personally like, due to it subliminal feel it gives a sense of fear with the fact you can't see the end of the city as it vanishes of into the darkness out of sight. It's a good concept piece and very detailed. It is well contrasted so it isn't to dark where nothing is visible and isn't to light which would ruin it's subliminal feel.

Caspar David Friedrich, Monk by the Sea, c. 1808–1810 found on my concept art page I do like, once again it comes under the sublime and gives a subliminal feel With the way the monk is by oncoming ways. It is well contrasted again which is what makes it come under the sublime.

Between the both they both captured my eye due to the emotion I felt when looking at them, the sense of fear or dread. Due to the contrast of the images is what initially caught my eye. The city how it just continuosly goes on and one and its detailed very much had my captured by the eye. The simplicity yet effectiveness of the monk by the sea is the reason why it also caught my eye. Due to the fact they are both subliminal concept pieces what they are trying to do is create almost a feeling of fear and dread of the unkown. To capture a person and allow them to feel the emotions as if they was their themselves in the actual painting and they are very effective. Personally I prefer the city due to it's high detail and futuristic look which to me makes it the better one out the two.

Evaluation of WOW project games demo

The game was about a refugee who comes to Britain, throughout the game they learn Fundamental British values that will later be used to defeat and end of level boss and turn them good.
The game meets the brief by providing levels, characters and various options within the game.
There was no real aspects of the brief I didn't like and I can not currently think of ideas that I would like to work on as a future project brief.
I do not think I was suited to my job role and I did not feel good working within the team I was with. Only good points for me is the end product came out fairly well. The bad points for me was more so the lack of communication within the group, asked about some things and went to work with them to get limited verbal communication from them.
I feel I could of gave better if communications were better within the team.
I feel as a whole the team managed their time fairly well, what would of made it easier if a plan was made so everyone knew what roles they had to do and when and to also have a deadline to work to.
I am fairly pleased with the outcome of the demo as it is simple and easy to understand.
I feel there isn't really anything I can take from this experience.
